I normally don’t give cliffhangers more than one star, but I knew ahead of time that it was, and I liked the characters so had to go a little higher. If the story hadn’t been messed up I might have given it more. There are a number of words that make no sense within the context of the sentence, but this one struck me as the worst (so far). Author: the word you were looking for was stunned, not stunted. These words have entirely different meanings. There were other mess ups too, but I didn’t note them. It’s annoying to get pulled out of a story because someone didn’t care enough to do it right. I would suggest a better editor. The other thing that really bothered me was that this section of the story is too drawn out. It started out with a lot of we shouldn’t but we’re going to blah, blah, blah, and now it’s getting into the angry how dare you have a life before me. This story shouldn’t have been divided up into different “books” to begin with, but at the very least two and three should have been combined and the fluff weeded out instead of trying to milk more money out of people. It’s all making me find the story too easy to put down. I’m about 60% of the way through and trying to decide if I care enough to finish.
This is all unfortunate because I liked the characters and the plot. I’d even possibly be interested in reading more by the author, but there’s no way I’m going to risk another cliffhanger. If she had her books available through kindle unlimited I’d probably read a few more.

Autumn in London The Empire State Series Book 2 edition by Louise Bay Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I loved the journey Louise Bay took me on in this installment of the Empire State Series. I feel like it helped level the playing field between Anna & Ethan. They met and fell for each other on his turf, and now they get to really explore their relationship on hers.
I was both shocked and pleased by Anna's reaction to seeing Ethan again in the manner that she did. I enjoyed her jumping to the wrong conclusion and making Ethan work for it. And Ethan, oh Ethan, he was flawless in this book. Treading carefully and trying not to push while wanting more. I found myself holding my breath at the end when Anna wouldn't have "the talk" with him. I wanted to jump into my kindle and shake some sense into the both of them...just get over yourself already!
Now I have to know what happens next! I can't wait to see where the conclusion of this series will lead Ethan and Anna...
I love this couple together again this time in London. After parting after a week of fun, amazing sex and no strings Anna goes back to London and Ethan stays in New York both are miserable without the other. Now they are in London while Ethan's company merges with the law firm Anna works for. They have three months together and fall in love . For two highly intelligent people they don't know how to speak from their heart. So Ethan leaves to return to New York without Anna because he never asked to come to New York with him. Dumb, , didn't like this cliffhanger.
“I don’t get to speak?”
“Not yet.”
“Then when?”
“When I’ve f*** ed you so hard you’ve forgotten what you wanted to say.”
Novellas in The Empire State trilogy should be read in order
Part 1 A Week in New York
Part 2 Autumn in London
Part 3 New Year in Manhattan
In A Week in New York, part 1 Anna Kirby, having traveled to New York to get over an ex, met handsome and sexy playboy Ethan Scott. After a steamy one night stand they agree on no-questions-asked sex for the remainder or her week-long stay in New York.
Autumn in London (part 2) picks up four months after the ending of part 1. Ethan is heading to London for three months to oversee a take-over. Another chance encounter has Ethan and Anna working at the same firm entering into the territory of forbidden romance.
The story goes on to follow them during Ethan’s stay in London with kinky borderline frantic sex and budding feelings set against the backdrop of a non-fraternization policy and Ethan’s looming departure back to New York.
“But that’s why we need rules. And number one has got to be no org*sms in the office.”
ETHAN SCOTT American//$$$$/Dark hair/Blue eyes/Tall.
Eight words to describe Ethan Scott Charming, elusive, calculated, perceptive, reflective, commanding, non-committal and enigmatic.
“Give me a break, beautiful, my b*lls are already blue.” He groaned.
ANNA KIRBY British.
Eight words to describe Anna Kirby Sweet, easy-going, wounded, romantic, reflective, naïve, insecure and adventurous.
“Yes. Just. Like. That,” she breathed.”
Autumn in London, told from dual POVs, was every bit the steamy tale and just the right blend of drama, steam, conflict, romance, surprises and humor. Story ends abruptly, leading right to part 3, New Year in Manhattan for the conclusion of their story.
Off-the-charts sex with risk of discovery! Entertaining plot! Excellent story-telling! Swoon-worthy Ethan Scott!
“If you’re f*** ing me, you’re not f*** ing anyone else.”
“Babe, I’ve never even mentioned a threesome.”

Would I recommend this series Yes.
Would I re-read this series Maybe later.
Would I read future books by this author Yes.
I'm really loving this series and I was fortunate to start after they have all been released. There was a time when I hated reading books that end with a cliffhanger. In The Empire State Series, I get a little giddy knowing there's more to come. Who doesn't love to get a wee bit more at the end of a story?
I had a good chuckle when Anna loses the plot and thinks Ethan manipulated their first meeting. She's all huffy and puffy, ready to blow the office down. Ethan very calmly explains himself and the situation. LOVE IT! No unnecessary drama or douchewaffle overreactions. A mature and civilised discussion.
The pace is great, the sexy times are HOT and the characters become even more loveable with each instalment.
Onwards...
